A Fine Day

Yesterday Joyan and I did some vintage shopping, wandered up Main St. to the Blim Market, and then enjoyed some comfort food at Burgoo. I found an ombre denim button up and a neon painted tank while vintage shopping. These finds made me even more excited for summer...if that's humanly possible. The Blim market had some nice surprises, including adorable pencil cases, 70% off cheap monday, and handmade jewellery line Army of Rokosz. I couldn't resist the cheap monday markdown, and I gave into my skull obsession and bought a Army of Rokosz bracelet. The strawberry lemonade at Burgoo is straight up heavenly. The real deal people. At one point during the day, our lovely Vancouver weather brought snow to us (sarcasm intended). Maybe going forward sandal clogs in February aren't ideal.

Jil Sander Love Letter

I have a fangirl-like obsession with Jil Sander, and Raf Simons's AW12 collection for the label was just too perfect. I have to say I'm slightly bitter about Raf leaving Jil Sander. He was completely deserving of his standing ovation AND encore, what a cutie. I hope he gets the spot at YSL, because I feel like they are a match made in heaven. Also, if anybody feels like buying m one of these coats, that'd be dope.

Shoe Porn

Fashion week is always abuzz with lots and lots of shoe porn. Shoes that make you drool, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little. I'm not judging. Here are some of the shoes that made me giddy from the FW12 street style shots.

Ethnic Punk

Jeremy Scott's Fall 12 collection was like a 90s teen threw up all over the runway, and I loved it. A bit of grunge, lots of prints, and a handful of neon. His collection was inspired by the internet and the way information travels, including the fact that nothing can be officially deleted. Although I thought the clothes were totes amaze, what really caught my eye was the makeup, done by MAC. Scott said that he played with the concept of Indian bindis and wanted them to look "a bit punk, a bit ethnic". The neon bindis, the blue lips, the clean eye, and of course the hair, are perfection.

Loose Ends

As I said a few weeks ago, my room was in desperate need of a cleaning. I finally set aside the time to organize everything to the nth degree and feel so much better already.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

Karen Walker glasses have been creeping their way on to my wish-list for some time now. Their crazy bold shapes are hard to resist and are almost an outfit on their own.

Turquoise Makes Me Tick

On project Runway season 8, I was all about Mondo. When Gretchen Jones won, I was definitely not a happy camper. Despite my love for Mondo, I must say Gretchen Jones' last 2 collections have been very naice. These turquoise nails from her FW12 show are just about the coolest things I've ever seen.
