Greece was the second stop on my trip. I spent almost three weeks there and it was truly surreal. What I had to say about Greece.

I recently read an article in Lula Magazine about what it means to dress and the fantasy of it all. It served as a refresher as to why I love clothing so much. My favourite thing about fashion and what never ceases to amaze me about it is how transformative it can be. One day I might resemble Alice in Wonderland, the next, a grungy Nirvana groupie. I was never really ready to give up dress up (except for during those awkward LG years) and I've managed to adapt it to the real world....kind of. Actually, I'll take that last statement back, I get some questioning looks from many of my friends and passerbys surrounding my choice in attire. Anyhow, my point is that you can become whoever you want, whether it be full time of just for a day. A perfect place to start for this summer: A mermaid.
How to be: A Mermaid
STEP 1: if possible, grow your hair out long enough so that it can be worn as a shirt
STEP 2: wear a shirt that outwardly says you're a mermaid to clear up any confusion (unless you've successfully completed step 1)
STEP 3: get your mermaid beauty on
dip dye or full on dye your hair (à la Charlotte Free) some shade of purple, pink, or blue.
always sleep with it in a braid so you can optimize wavyness
paint your nails a mystical shade

As promised, here is the first of my updates from my Euro-trip. To see what I had to see about Paris, take a gander.
Marc Jacobs X Louis Vuitton exhibit at Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
I ain't gon lie. I was not per say "allowed" to take these photos, but, I wasn't about to let a little sign and a few security guards deprive me of capturing this miraculous exhibit. Don't hate.
The verdict: Ladurée takes the cake, with the exception of Pierre Hermé's jasmine macaroons
Beautiful clothes at Colette, which so happens to be the coolest store in the world
Marie Antoinette's Bedroom. Dope set up M.A., dope set up indeed.
The Folk Fest is a Vancouver tradition that goes down every summer at Jericho beach. It's a music festival, hippie palooza (actual hippies, not chic festival goer "hippies" like at Coachella), and all around good time. As my good friend Marc said: "Music festivals are an excuse to don all of your granola attire". This year was somehow my first Folk Fest experience, despite having lived here my whole life. Some of the headliners for the 2012 lineup were K'NAAN and Dan Mangan. Not too shabby if you ask me. In addition to music and sunshine, there are endless stalls and booths with everything from vintage clothing to locally handmade jewellry.
What I'm Wearing: Wildfox Shell Necklace Gypsy Tank, Tatami Birkenstocks, Urban Outfitters bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs Sunglasses

My mind has fully been blown. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have designed the most beautiful fall collection I think my eyeballs have ever seen. The collection is so diverse, yet somehow still cohesive. What instantly came to mind was an impossibly chic, evil Disney queen. The modesty of high necklines and longer hem lengths create a perfect counterpart for the glamourous chiffons and lace seen throughout the collection. So who wants to buy me some Valentino...?

If anybody who reads this blog has been wondering if I died abroad, you can rest assured I am alive and in possession of many new pieces of european clothing. My trip was longer than expected and that much more amazing because of it. I will update you on my travels city by city over the next few weeks. You will find a collection of photographs, fashionable moments (not mine I might add, the words backpacker and fashionable don't coexist well), and beautiful places.

Coachella always serves as some great pre-summer inspiration. Here are some of my fave Coachella style pics that have surfaced this year. Whitney Port rocking the tribal prints and neons, Vanessa Hudgens reppin boho chic and flower crowns.

I know that for some of you, the weather is already beautiful and you regularly enjoy basking in the sunlight. However, us Vancouverites need to be prepared for whatever, whenever. This means that when I leave the house, it may be gorgeous. However, by the time I'm finished brunch, it could be hailing (true story, happened last week). This makes layering my best friend. My go-to combo lately has been a tank under a sweater under some form of denim button up.
Wearing: Hibou Sunglasses, Vintage denim button up, Wilfred sweater, forever 21 pants, Chanel purse

If there is a pair of sunglasses assigned to everybody's soul, these would be mine. Love at first sight. Unfortunately, I can't scrounge up the $250 and $400 they would cost me. I feel a DIY coming on...
You can buy them here.
Side note: If you do I'll be jealous and probably hate you

As I mentioned earlier, I chopped off a substantial amount of my hair. Not going to lie, I had a few post-haircut breakdowns. Happens to the best of us right? Here was my friday going-out uniform. I don't care if it's not quite midriff season, it was comin' out whether people liked it or not.
